Under the leadership of Chairman Ehsan Bayat, The Bayat Foundation has worked to purchase and distribute supplies to individuals and families across Afghanistan to help them survive this year’s uncharacteristically severe winter. Mr. Bayat accompanied members of the foundation to the provinces of Kunduz, Jawzjan, Faryab, and Balkh, as well as Sheberghan City, Maimana City, and the Hilmand Refugee Camp in Kabul. In each of these places, volunteers distributed food, shoes, blankets, wood for heat, and warm clothing, such as coats and gloves. Despite dangerous winter road conditions, the foundation also brought in ambulances and medical personnel to treat people suffering from illnesses or other effects of the harsh weather.
When interviewed about his organization’s recent efforts under the Winter Aid Program, Ehsan Bayat expressed gratitude for the opportunity he and his team had to assist Afghans during these difficult times. “Most of all,” he said, “we are thankful to see the hope of a better tomorrow in the eyes of those we have been able to help so far.”
While assisting volunteers during the recent aid initiative, Ehsan Bayat arranged a meeting with Ustad Atta Mohammad Noor, the honorable Governor of Balkh Province. During their meeting, Mr. Bayat promised to contribute 5 million Afghanis toward the construction of a Mosque in Mazar Sharif City. When built, the Mosque will stand as the largest in the entire country.
